488 Golden Retrievers
On July 13, 2023, 488 golden retrievers got together. Was it a Disney movie like “101 Dalmatians”? No, this is a real story. Every five years since 2001, the owners of golden retrievers have brought their dogs to Guisachan House in Scotland. No one lives there now, but it was the house where Sir Dudley Majoribanks lived. He was the person who developed the golden retriever breed in 1868. He mixed two other dog breeds, a wavy-coated retriever and a tweed water spaniel, and the golden retriever was born. Golden retrievers are one of the most popular dog breeds in the world now, and golden retriever owners bring their dogs from Europe, North America, and even Australia to celebrate the man who created their favorite dog breed.
