★今日のじゃれマガーその要旨
ジャレルさんは以前にもこのSakura Michiのことを書いていました。調べると2015年のことでした。太平洋と日本海を桜で結ぶなんてロマンですね。しかも22年もかかって。

Running the Cherry Tree Route
There used to be a bus route from Nagoya to Kanazawa many years ago. One of the bus drivers. Sato Ryoji, had a dream. He wanted to plant cherry trees along the road from the Pacific Ocean to the Sea of Japan. He started in the 1960s and planted 2000 trees before his death in 1977. Since the 1990s, runners celebrate his achievements in the Sakura Michi International Nature Run. They follow the cherry tree route up and down mountains for about 250 kilometers. This year, the ultramarathon began on April 22. There were 76 runners at the start, but only 45 runners finished within the 36-hour time limit. The winner was a doctor from Miyagi Prefecture, Hayasaka Ken. His time was 26 hours.

A 250 Kilometer Race
Sakura Michi International Nature Run was held last weekend. A bus conductor named Sato Ryoji spent his life planting 2000 cherry trees and made a “sakura michi” that connects the Pacific coast to the Sea of Japan coast. For 22 years, runners have been following his trees. They start at Nagoya Castle and run 250 kilometers to Kenrokuen in Kanazawa. This year, about 140 people took part in this event. That isn’t a large group, but not many people can run 250 kilometers. The winner was Nakatate Toshiya. I don’t his time this year, but last year he ran the course in 24 hours and 22 minutes.
