Readers’ Corner: Finally Married
My best friends got married in Hawaii in February. One is Japanese and the other American. I met them in Hawaii while we were studying in graduate school there. When they started dating, I was the one who noticed it first. They have been together for 13 years and live in Japan now. Why did it take so long to get married? That’s because they are both female. Before they left Japan for Hawaii to get married last month, they finally told all their family members and friends in Japan. On the other hand, everyone on the American side knew about them from the beginning. The couple were actually surprised to know that their marriage made so many people around them happy.
