・「（猛）犬に注意」という注意書きの英語は”Beware of dog”ですが、a dogでもdogsでもありませんね。見出しとか看板・標識のたぐいにはこのような英語が多く見られます。話すときや文章を書くときとは違ったルールがあるので、そのまま真似るわけにはいきません。区別が必要です。
・（盗んで）家に持ち帰る・・・ということを英語ではこんな風にいいます。

Beware of Robot
If you see a sign that says “Beware of dog” in front of a house in the U.S., it means that the owner has a dog. Dogs help to keep burglars (people who steal things) away. Now there is a robot which moves like a dog and can “see” through a camera. This robot dog is too expensive for most people’s homes, but it has a job in Pompeii, an ancient (very old) Roman city. Pompeii was buried when the volcano Mt. Vesuvius erupted 2,000 years ago. It is a popular outdoor museum park because tourists can see how people lived during the Roman Empire. Unfortunately, some tourists try to take something home with them, so the park has started using a robot dog to guard the city.
