The Monster of Reiwa
Have you heard of the Monster of Reiwa? His name is Sasaki Roki, and he is a 20-year-old baseball star. He got his name in high school because of his 163 km/hr fastball. He was so good that Major League Baseball teams wanted him to play in the U.S. after high school, but he decided to stay in Japan and play for the Lotte Marines. On Sunday, he made the news in both countries when he pitched a perfect game. He didn’t let any of the Orix Buffaloes get on base. It was the first perfect game in Japanese baseball in 28 years, and he broke the record for consecutive strikeouts by striking out 13 batters in a row.
