やめて！ brush up
brush upの誤用について１月に２回も書きました。
でももう一度書きます。
テレビに出る人々に「製品を今後もブラッシュアップしていきます」的な発言が多すぎます。
brush upは次のような場面で使うものです。
I have to brush up my English skills quickly.
「（しばらく使わないで錆びついてしまったので）大急ぎで英語をやり直さなくては」
ホコリを落とす、錆を落とす、ということが元々で、忘れてしまった技術・技能などを磨き直す意味で使います。
「改良する」という場合にbrush upは使いません。
どの人もみんなテレビで大恥かいています。
どうしたらわかってくれるのでしょうか。

One of the Greatest Musicals
My wife and I went to see the new “West Side Story” movie last night. We both saw the original “West Side Story” movie in the late 1960s. It was a big hit and won 10 Academy Awards, the most for any musical. The acting was great, the songs were wonderful, the dancing was exciting, and the story was a 20th century version of “Romeo and Juliet.” The new movie is a little different, but it is still set in the late 1950s. The songs, dancing, and acting are still great. I hope that people who don’t know the musical will watch this movie. “West Side Story” is really one of the greatest musicals of all time.
