またwatersと複数になるのは海域という意味合いだからです。東シナ海とか太平洋とか、それらをwatersと言います。

Things I Didn’t Know about Okinawa

1. Kerama is a national park.
2. There are sea snakes and sea turtles around Kerama, and they have to come up to the surface of the water to breathe.
3. Tuna is one of the most popular dishes in Naha. The tuna is caught in nearby waters.
4. Many of the houses in Naha have flat roofs.
5. Children who live on small islands have to go to Naha for high school. Schools usually have special dormitories for them, but sometimes they live with a relative who moves to the main island with them.
6. Driving around Naha is difficult because of the narrow streets, but having a GPS in your car makes it much easier.
