私事ですがアマチュア音楽祭の案内をさせてください。
旧みらい英語教室仲間で作った音楽仲間の祭典です。
５月にも開催しましたが、今回はさらに内容充実です。
様々なジャンルの音楽が宝石箱のように輝きます。だから音楽彩です。

・例年この時期には・・・at this time of the yearともいいますが、重宝なフレーズですね
※なぜJune nineteenthがJuneteenthになるのかよくわかりませんが奴隷解放が最後のテキサスで宣言されたこの日が合衆国第二の独立の日となったのですね。１８６５年というと明治維新の３年前。そんな最近やっと解放されたのですね。もっとも黒人差別はなくなりませんが。

Independence Day and Juneteenth
There are two important holidays celebrating freedom in the U.S. at this time of year. Americans celebrate Independence Day on July 4. On this day in 1776, the 13 American colonies got together and signed the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration said that the new U.S.A. should be free from Great Britain and that everyone should be free. At that time, however, most black people were still slaves. They didn’t get their freedom until the Civil War. On June 19, 1865, the slaves in Texas were freed, and many black people started to celebrate Juneteenth (June 19) as America’s second Independence Day. Juneteenth became a federal holiday last year.
