The Census
When the government wants to find out how many people there are, it has a census. It sends out a form to each household (person or family). This year there is a census in Japan, and there is one in the U.S., too. We got our form from the Japanese government about two weeks ago. My wife tried to fill it out online, but she found it too difficult. Instead, we will send our form in tomorrow. You can do it by mail or online in the U.S., too, but there is one difference between the two countries. Japan has a census every 5 years, but the U.S. only has one every 10 years.
