Smart Animals
I went for a drive in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture yesterday with my wife to see the autumn colors, but it was still a little early. However, we discovered Bunsuirei Park in Hirugano. This is where the water flows two ways. Some goes out to the Sea of Japan, and the rest goes to the Pacific Ocean. On the way back to Nagoya, we came across a couple of Japanese serow (“kamoshika”) at the side of the road. We were amazed when they started climbing the stairs of the pedestrian bridge (“hodokyo”). They crossed the road safely, just like people. What smart animals!
