じゃれマガは面白く、易しい英語で毎日配信される素晴らしい教材です。その英語はとても良いお手本です。じゃれマガからもっと学ぶためのヒントを提供します。

筆者の奥様がスーパーで買ってきた魚がすごかった。そのわけは？
ツバスというのはぶりの成長途上の名前だそうですね。sardineはイワシ。
★学びたい英語/まねたい英語（特にお手本と思うところ）
・すでにさばかれた魚
・一匹まるまんま
・一匹分の値段で二匹を得た
かわいそうにその魚、食事中に網にかかってしまったのですね。
sardineは英語でもよく出てくる魚で、最も多いのがPeople are packed like sardines in the train.（人々は列車の中ですし詰め状態です）のような言い方。缶詰からの連想です。
ところでfishは複数でもsはつきません。なのにsardineはsがつきます。困った英語ですね。

Two Fish for the Price of One
When we have sashimi as home, my wife usually goes to the supermarket and buys raw fish that has already been prepared. On Monday, she saw a fresh Japanese amberjack (“tsubasu”) at the supermarket. It looked delicious, so she bought the whole fish. She started to prepare it herself. When she cut the head off, she was surprised to see something in the mouth. She was excited and told me to come into the kitchen. She pulled a sardine, a smaller fish, out of the amberjack’s stomach! It was in perfect condition. She had two fish for the price of one!
