Good and Bad News
There was good news and bad news in today’s newspaper. The bad news came first. Shimura Ken is dead. He died from COVID-19, the coronavirus, on Sunday morning. He was 70 years old. He became famous with a group called The Drifters, but he was best known for his roles as Baka Tonosama and Henna Ojisan. The good news is that the Olympics will be held in summer next year. The Japanese government and the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee talked to the International Olympic Committee, and they decided that the Olympics will start on July 23 and the Paralympics will begin on August 24 in 2021.
