Smart and Strong
Many teenagers enter professional sumo from junior high school. These teenagers usually have little or no experience in sumo, so they start at the bottom and have to work their way up. In the last 30 years, however, more and more experienced wrestlers from university clubs are entering. They usually come from large universities with strong sports departments. This year, for the first time in sumo history, a graduate of Tokyo University has passed the test. Suyama Hotaka is smart, and he looks like he will be a successful sumo wrestler. Good luck, Suyama!
