earbudとは最近はやりのワイヤレスイヤホンのことなんですね。それを買った筆者はうまく設定できずに販売店に返しに行くも・・・。
★学びたい英語/まねたい英語（特にお手本と思うところ）
・ひさびさに出ましたso that・・・誰かと一緒に音楽が聴けるようにと買いました。これが使えると英語が楽しくなりますね。
・設定（の画面）を開いた・・・スマホ生活とは切り離せない「設定」はsetting(s)なんですね。単数で使うか複数か、これから出会うたびに見ていくとよいでしょう。
・（左のイヤホンからしか音が聞こえません・・・やってもやっても）さてこのあとの英文but I still couldn’t hear sound from both earbudsをどう捉えますか？・・・「両方から聞こえるようにならない」ということですね。「どちらからも聞こえない」ではありません。couldn’tはhearを否定ではなくbothを否定していることに注意しましょう。部分否定という文法項目で確認できます。
・イヤホンが動作した・・・ということをworkで表しています。
・私は１つのイヤホンのみペアリングしたに違いない/１つしかしなかった

Read the Instructions
I bought a pair of earbuds last Friday so that I could share my music with someone else. When I got home, I took them out of their charging case. Then I opened the settings on my phone and paired the earbuds to my phone using Bluetooth. I paired both of them, but I could only hear sound from the left earbud. I tried again and again, but I still couldn’t hear sound from both earbuds. I was disappointed and took them back to the store where I bought them. The clerk looked at them for a couple of minutes and changed the settings. Then he said, “Please try them now.” They worked! I should have only paired one earbud. I hadn’t read the instructions carefully.
