★今日のじゃれマガーその要旨
オリンピックが終わりました。たくさんの場面が思い出されてとても紹介しきれませんが信じられないようなことが二つありました。
★学びたい英語/まねたい英語（特にお手本と思うところ）
・２週間にわたって・・・このoverはとてもよく使われますね。なかでも一番目にするのはover the weekendでしょうか
・他を負かす/勝つ・・・beatも上手に使えるようになりたいですね
・暑さに勝つ/克服する・・・winも味な動詞ですね
・頑張って勝った・・・go onはし続ける/頑張る。to winはふつう勝つためにと考えますが、このように「その結果勝った」と結果を表す場合もあります。

Two Olympic Stories
The Tokyo Olympics are over. More than 1000 medals were given to athletes from 86 different countries over the two weeks. How many events did you watch? Did you discover any new sports? What scenes do you remember? There are so many wins that I can’t talk about all of them in Jaremaga, but here are two incredible stories. In the men’s 100-meter sprint, there were many famous runners. Who was going to be the fastest man in the world? No one knew Lamont Marcell Jacobs of Italy, but he beat all of them and got the gold medal. Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands was even more amazing. She fell down during a 1500-meter race, but she got up and took off like a rocket. She won the heat and went on to win two gold medals and a bronze.
