・開けていた・・・stay open、kept open、left open、ほぼ同じことですが、ニュアンスがそれぞれ違いますね。何度も見ているとだんだんわかります。
・体力を取り戻す/回復する・・・こんな易しい言い方ができるようになるといいですね。

The Perfect Job
I hope that everyone had a chance to relax during Golden Week. To tell the truth, I was busier than usual. I worked almost every day from April 29 until May 5. I work at two environmental centers, and they stayed open during the holidays. Actually, this is a great time to work there. Many migratory birds stop at Fujimae Tidal Flat after a long journey. They need to feed and get their strength back before they fly north for the summer. Although I was working, I got to see hundreds of birds. This is the perfect job for a birdwatcher like me.
