・違う国にいることに突然気づいた…knowという動詞は状態を表す動詞ですから、知らなかったことを知る時はlearnとかfindを使います。でもここではsuddenlyがあるのでknowで大丈夫なわけです。
・どの国もユーロを使うわけではない…not every 大事ですね。

Beware When You Travel in the EU!
My wife and I left Austria on Sunday and took a highway bus to Prague in Czechia (the Czech Republic). We didn’t know when we crossed the border from Austria to Czechia because there was no passport check. We kept going on the highway, and everything looked the same. Czechia is in the EU, so I took 100 euros out of an ATM before we left Austria. We had to change buses once in Czechia, and I suddenly knew I was in a different country. Czechia still uses its own money, the koruna. I needed to pay to use the public toilet. It wasn’t much, about 65 yen, but I couldn’t use my euros. I had to find an ATM and get korunas. Beware when you travel in the EU. Not every country uses the euro!
