Readers’ Corner: Which Card Would You Pick?
After I got married, my wife asked me to pick one of three cards; cooking, laundry, or cleaning. I asked why, and she answered that I should help with the housework because we both had full-time jobs. I hated laundry and cleaning, so I chose cooking. Since then, I have been doing the cooking for my family for 43 years, including making boxed lunches for them! When I say that to women around me, some gaze at my face and say they need to rethink their marriage. Others say they would have liked to meet me when they were single. I am also often asked how I decide the menu for each meal. My answer is simple. I try to use food which is in season and at a low price on the day.
