Yellow Bouquets
This year the summer was very long, and so is the autumn. It never seems to end. Temperatures in Nagoya have stayed above 15 degrees for the last week. The other day, I was walking along a road near my house that goes to a university campus. It was lunchtime, and students were coming and going. The ginkgo trees along the street were beautiful. They still had some bright yellow leaves on their branches, and yellow leaves carpeted the roadside below them. I saw couple of young women, students from the university, squatting at the side of the road. They were choosing the best leaves and making yellow bouquets.
