Readers’ Corner: Proud of My Mother
When I was in elementary school, my mom drew pictures of loquats on the invitation cards to my friends for my birthday party. My birthday is in June, so the loquat is the best fruit for the cards. She drew them with colored pencils one by one. At that time, we didn’t have any copying machines at home. I can still remember her pictures and her face while she was drawing. I was proud of her. She was the only mother around that made her kid’s birthday cards by herself. That was more than fifty years ago. I don’t remember whether I said “Thank you” to her then. I’m sure I’ll say “Thank you” to her when we meet again. I wonder if she will smile at me like she did fifty years ago.
