My Nephew’s Wedding
I came to the U.S. because my nephew (my sister’s son) was getting married. He had an outdoor wedding, and the weather was perfect: sunny and warm, but not too hot. He and his bride read the vows (promises) that they had written, and they put rings on each other’s finger. They had a reception (party) under a large tent with a dance floor. There were some funny but moving speeches by friends and family, and then it was time for the buffet dinner. The father danced with the bride, and then my sister danced with her son. Finally, everyone ate, drank, and danced. We had a great time. The older people left before 9 p.m., but the younger people kept dancing until late at night.
