Going to See the Autumn Colors
Japan has some of the most beautiful autumn colors in the world. The best time to see them depends on where you are in Japan. For example, the leaves change color in October in northern Japan and in the mountains. In central Japan, the autumn colors are most beautiful in November. There is a very popular spot near Nagoya called Korankei Gorge. On Monday, my wife and I left home early and went there by car. It was raining a little when we arrived at Korankei, but then the sun came out. It was a little too early for the maple trees which were just starting to turn red. The ginkgo trees, however, were already a beautiful yellow.
