Elections in the U.S.
Elections (“senkyo”) were held yesterday in every state of the U.S. There are elections in the U.S. every two years. They are always on the first or the second Tuesday in November. The president is elected every four years, but the members of the House of Representatives (“kain gin”) are elected every two years. Senators (“join giin”) are elected every six years. This time the elections were between the last presidential election of 2020 and the next presidential election of 2024, so they are called midterm elections. Biden will still be the president, but will his Democratic Party (“Minshuto”) stay in power, or will the Republican Party (“Kyowato”) win?
