Thanking Dad
Yesterday was Father’s Day in about many countries around the world including Japan. How did you celebrate Father’s Day? I was looking at the advertising leaflets (“chirashi”) that came in the newspaper over the weekend, and I found a lot of Father’s Day ads for meat. I guess it’s the same in the U.S. People often feed their fathers good food by taking them out for dinner or making a special meal at home. I checked online stores for presents, and one that seemed to be popular in both Japan and the U.S. was a shiatsu neck and back massager. Children in Japan used to give their fathers massage coupons and do the neck massage themselves. Do they still do it, or has technology taken over?
