Readers’ Corner: Watch Out for Heat Stroke!
I was very interested in your story of a different “Mayday” which means “Help me!” I remember that I called for help one day last summer. On that hot day, I was cycling to the home of my friend 30 km away. However, in the direct sunlight, I lost my way and felt sick and nauseated. I stopped at a small park where I rested under the shade of some trees. I probably had a heat stroke even though I had already drunk more than one liter of water. l called 119. The ambulance crew came and took me to the hospital. When the doctor checked my physical condition, he diagnosed me with mild heat stroke. Everyone, be careful not to get dehydrated on hot days like this.
