Extra Spicy!
I went to a “takoyaki” stand the other day. I was only expecting them to have two seasonings, soy sauce or Japanese-style sauce, so I was surprised to hear that they had a third kind: extra spicy! “Extra spicy” seems to be a thing in Japan these days. You can find extra spicy instant noodles at almost any convenience store or supermarket, and they now have extra spicy fried noodles. You can buy all sorts of extra spicy snacks these days, too. Even so, I never expected to see extra spicy octopus dumplings. I thought about it for a moment, but then I realized that I just wanted regular “takoyaki.” I bought the ones with soy sauce, and they were perfect!
