・歩道で卵焼きが焼ける･･･so ～ that構文ですね。thatは省かれることが多いですね。you can fry…ではなくてyou could fryとしているのは、まさか本気でそんなことをする人はいないでしょうから・・・かな。

How to Say “It’s hot!”
Summer is here, and everyone is complaining about the heat. How do you describe it? You can say, “It’s hot!” “It’s really hot!” or even “It’s really, really hot!” The more times you say “really,” the hotter it sounds. These messages are clear, but there are more interesting ways to say the same thing. You can say, “It’s boiling!” Water boils at 100 degrees centigrade, so this means that it’s “really, really, really hot.” Here’s another one: “I feel like a chicken in the oven.” That sounds even hotter. But my favorite is, “It’s so hot you could fry an egg on the sidewalk!” I can just see the egg turning white and hear it sizzling.
