A Fruit Quiz
Before I came to Japan, I had never eaten this fruit. It is larger than most strawberries but smaller than a kiwi. The tree has dark green leaves and white flowers that blossom in the autumn or winter, but you can’t eat the fruit until the spring or early summer. When the fruit is ripe, the skin is orange, and so is the fruit inside. My wife bought some yesterday. We peeled the thin skin off, and the fruit was very sweet. We ate about five each. I like the taste, but this fruit has a lot of seeds. It is named after an old musical instrument in Japanese. Do you know what fruit I am talking about?
