JHS Essay, Third Prize: A Warm Feeling on a Cold Day
On a rather cold day, I was sitting on a crowded train on my way home from school. When the train arrived at one station, many people got on the train. I noticed one elderly man with a Help Mark among them, so I said to him, “Please have a seat.” I stood up. He noticed me and sat down. He said, “Thank you,” so I replied, “You’re welcome.” He got off the train earlier than me. At that time, he took off his hat and said, “Thank you very much” again! I was very surprised and respected his goodness. On a cold day, he warmed my heart.
