Fujii, not Fuji
Yesterday I talked about Mt. Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan. Today I want to talk about Fujii Sota, the best shogi player in Japan. He became a professional shogi player in junior high school, and since then he has had an amazing career. He was the youngest player to win one of the eight major titles, and yesterday he made history when he won the Meijin title. He is the first professional shogi player to hold eight major titles. This was such important news that newspapers around Japan printed one-page special editions and passed them out on the streets. Fujii has broken almost every record in shogi, but he is still only 21. What is he going to do in the future?
