My Wife Was Surprised
My wife saw a TikTok video of a French man at a barbershop in Japan. Even though she is Japanese, she was surprised to see that men bend forward when the barber washes their hair. When she goes to the hairdresser, she leans back when they wash her hair. Why do barbers and hairdressers wash hair in a different way in Japan? I think it has to do with makeup. Many women wear make-up. If they bend forward, the water gets on their face and messes up their makeup. Men, on the other hand, don’t usually wear make-up. When the barber washes my hair, the water sometimes gets on my face, but that doesn’t bother me. He just wipes the water off with a towel.
