Women Running past Me
The Nagoya Women’s Marathon took place yesterday, and Ruth Chepngetich of Kenya won the race for the second straight year. In 2022, she set the course record of 2 hours, 17 minutes and 18 seconds. She didn’t break her own record this time, but she came close. Her final time was 2:18:08. The next two runners were both Japanese, and they were both in the Tokyo Olympics. Suzuki Ayuko came in second with the time of 2:21:52, and Maeda Honami came in third with the time of 2:22:32. Both of them can now go on to the Marathon Grand Championship in October. That is where they will decide who to send to the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
