ジャレルさんは大河ドラマの第１回を見たそうです。「どうする家康」というタイトルも意表を突くものですが、その英訳もすごいですね。（笑）
★学びたい英語/まねたい英語（特にお手本と思うところ）
・歴史ドラマは英語でhistorical dramaとなりますね。historyの形容詞にはもう一つhistoricというのがありますが、こちらは歴史上重要な/歴史に残る、といった意味ですから注意が必要です。大河ドラマのhistorical dramaを思い出すと区別に便利ですね。
・主役に起用する･･･starにはそういう動詞の意味もあります。

“What Are You Going to Do, Ieyasu?”
This year’s NHK historical drama, known as Taiga Drama, is called, “What are you going to do, Ieyasu?” The first episode was broadcast on Sunday, January 8, at 8 p.m., and my wife and I watched it. The drama stars Matsumoto Jun as Ieyasu and Arimura Kasumi as Sena, the woman Ieyasu marries. I was surprised at the young Ieyasu in the drama. I knew Ieyasu as one of the greatest people in Japanese history. He created the Tokugawa Bakufu that lasted for almost 300 years. In the first episode, however, he didn’t look like a hero. He was scared of Nobunaga and tried to run away from the battlefield.
