Readers’ Corner: “Dokidoki”?
I usually go to work after watching a fortune-telling program on TV. One day, the program said that I would have a “dokidoki” experience, an exciting experience. While I was on the way to work in my car that morning, the car next to me suddenly changed lanes. I honked my car horn so that the driver would notice his dangerous driving. At the next traffic light, I had to stop next to that car. The car window opened, and a middle-aged guy was staring at me. My heart started beating fast. I thought the fortune had come true. I told one of my colleagues about my experience and said, “Today’s fortune was right. I had a ‘dokidoki’ experience.” However, she said, “I don’t think it was a ‘dokidoki’ experience. Wasn’t it a ‘harahara’ experience, a scary experience?” I think she was right.
