Time to Say Goodbye
The weather is getting warmer. Winter is coming to an end, and it feels like spring. Here in Aichi Prefecture, there are fewer and fewer ducks in the rivers and ponds. They have spent the winter here, but now it’s time to say goodbye. Where are they going? Most of them are flying north. Some are going to northern Japan. Others are going as far as Siberia and Alaska. They will stay there until autumn. They will make nests, lay eggs, and raise their ducklings (babies).
