Get Ready for More Foreign Tourists
The government has changed the rules, and it’s much easier for foreign tourists to enter Japan. Before October 11, many visitors needed visas, and people were tested for COVID when they entered the country. Now, anyone can enter Japan if they have had 3 vaccinations, and travelers who don’t have 3 vaccinations can enter the country if they get a negative result for a COVID test. This is a great time for foreign visitors because the yen is so low. Before COVID, the rate was about 110 yen to the dollar. Now it is 145 yen to the dollar. That means that Japan is about 25% cheaper than it used to be.
