・多くの人はwhenでつながった文をwhen部分から訳すと思いますが、こんな場合はちょっと違いますね。これはドラマチックな効果を狙った構文です。そもそも訳さないで頭から順に理解していくのが一番なのですが。
・月より上にいる･･･「天にも昇るほどうれしい」とうことですね。内輪話ですが、たまたまオンライン講座 英語クラブの教材に数日前登場したばかりでした。違った教材で同じ表現を見ると一発で覚えられます。

This Year Will Be Different
My wife, daughter, and granddaughter are all fans of one boy band. They always talk about the members and their music at the dinner table. They have been to at least one of their concerts, and I think my daughter has been to three this year. Yesterday I was in the car with my wife when she got a message from our daughter. NHK had just announced the participants in the Red and White Song Festival, and their favorite boy band will be in it! Everyone is over the moon (very, very happy) about it. Recently, no one had been excited about watching the New Year’s Eve song festival, but this year will be different.
