Until last week, it looked like the U.S. might go bankrupt. President Biden and other politicians couldn’t agree on how to borrow money. Today was the day that the U.S. would run out of money and stop paying its bills. If the U.S. went bankrupt, life in the U.S. would become more difficult. Other countries like Japan and China that lend money to the U.S. would be hurt, too. On Saturday, Biden signed a new law, and the U.S. can borrow money for another two years. We can stop worrying for now.
