中学生の優秀作品です。１週間のネット断ちをしたそうです。パニックぶりが同感できますね。
★学びたい英語/まねたい英語（特にお手本と思うところ）
・スマホが圏外表示する･･･このようにsayを使う、no serviceという用語、上手ですね。
・wifiはあったけれど非常に弱い･･･こんな言い方も上手です。
・appreciateは「感謝する」とも訳されますが、賞味する/堪能する･･･など幅広い使われ方があります。やはりたくさん読んで慣れて行かないとappreciateの正体がわかりませんね。

JHS Essay, Honorable Mention: A Week without the Internet
My family and I went to the southernmost part of the Philippines for the holidays. When I arrived at the hotel and checked my phone, it said “No service”. The hotel counter told me that some of the cell towers had gone down due to a typhoon. At first, I was panicking since I was always so used to having the Internet. Though I was able to get a wifi signal, it was still too weak to surf the Internet and send pictures to friends. But after a week without the Internet, I really appreciated nature and the time with my family and by myself. Sometimes it’s nice to be off the grid!
