The World’s Largest Gathering is Canceled
Mecca is the most important place on Earth for Islam. It is where Mohammed, the founder of Islam, was born. Moslems (believers in Islam) think that every Moslem should visit Mecca once in their lifetime. Last year, about 2.5 million Moslems came from many different countries to the world’s biggest religious gathering, the Hajj. They visited Mecca to pray and meet Moslems from other countries. This year the Hajj was going to be in July, but it’s still too dangerous because of the coronavirus. Moslems are sad that they cannot go, but they understand why Saudi Arabia has canceled the Hajj.
